How to Configure your Email account in Mozilla Thunderbird
Configuring Thrunderbird
If you do not have Thunderbird but would like to try it, its free and can be found here. Installation is easy. Just click 'Accept' and 'Next' until finished and Thunderbird automatically is configured in your computer.
The first time you open Mozilla Thunderbird once installed the following dialog box will open with the option to import data (inbox and contact lists) from other mail programs. If you wish to import data later you are able to do so with the option 'Import data' in the Tools menu. This feature allows you to importat your information from Eudora, Netscape Communication, Outlook and Outlook Express.
After the import data message an Account Wizard will appear. In this dialog box you should select Email account, then press Next.
Fill in your name and email address, then press Next.
Next enter the mail account information:POP3 Incoming Server: mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP Outgoing Server: the server of your Internet Service Provider
Now you are asked to fill in your user name (the portion of your email address before @, for example "jsmith"). This will be the same for both incoming and outgoing username. Then, press Next.
Now you are asked what you would like to call this account, choose yourself, press Next.
Thunderbird now presents you with a summary of your information. If everthing is correct click 'Finish'
At this moment your email password will be requested, once correctly entered Thunderbird will begin to download your email.
